Before you get onto the good stuff, a quick note from the author:
A few eagled eyed readers often contact me to say, “Those chapter headings are incorrectly spelt – I’m not reading those books.” When I explain just how wrong they are, their smiles usually light up the room. The chapter headings are spelt correctly, and all that you’re looking at is a play on words that is a recurring theme throughout my books. Chapter one of the first book, ‘Dragon Sleighing’, is spelt that way for a very particular reason. I hate SPOILERS, and so I won’t tell you why, because I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Likewise, the following chapter, ‘A Tail of Humility’, once again looks as though it may be incorrect. I assure you it is not. Other chapters across my series of books that may incur doubts include ‘Fawking Hell!!!!’, ‘The Mourning After The Week Before’, ‘SUB-version’ and ‘Eggs-clusion’. I take great pride in coming up with appropriate chapter headings that reflect not only what happens in that particular part of the adventure, but incorporate my unique sense of humour and personality. And might I say it’s been the hardest thing ever. Not just in my writing career, but out of everything I’ve ever done. Over the last few months I’ve often thought I’d never get to this point, never actually finish this book to my satisfaction. But it’s up and published, and I think it’s almost certainly my best work. Of course it is the fourth book in the series, and so realistically you do have to read the other books first, but if you do, and you like those, I’m one hundred percent convinced that you’ll absolutely love this one.
