You might wonder why ‘The Sober Hockey Player’? Well, I’m teetotal that’s why (apart from one Worthing mixed hockey tour, when I had little choice…see the Hockey Festival category for more details on that). In all the time I’ve been playing hockey, attending festivals, etc, I don’t recall ever meeting another hockey player that doesn’t drink at all, although there must be some out there, and I think that that makes my perspective unique. You’re probably thinking now that I’m dull as dishwater (maybe), but generally most who know me think not; in fact normally I’ve been at the heart of whatever’s going on, if of course I haven’t already instigated it. So I’d like to share with you some of my hockey stories, thoughts, anything I find insightful or just downright funny. I really hope you enjoy!
