How did you become a writer?

At 19 writing was my chosen career but marriage at 21 whilst I was still at University meant I needed to find a job as soon as I graduated. A supervisory position in a local hospital led me to a career in health service management instead.

The opportunity to pursue a writing career arose when my children were small I put my career on hold to look after them at home and started writing again. I wrote two novels but without published success.

My career in health service improvement ended abruptly due to illness I saw it as an opportunity rather than a disaster and decided to write full time and ‘The Dragon Legacy’ is the result.

What inspired you to write The Dragon Legacy?

My interest in the paranormal and my love of Dragons who always seem to be the villain of most stories; I wanted to create a dragon hero. The idea of creating a story about a secret world within the human one was another motivating force and finally my love of the English Lake District. I enjoyed remembering places I’d been as I wrote the story.

Where do you create your wonderful characters and stories?

On a white painted French style desk adorned with my favourite ornaments which include a dragon of course.

What is your favourite time of day to write?

I’m a morning person so I try to write then sometimes as early as 4am if I can’t sleep.

Tell us a little about ‘ The Dragon Legacy’.

The Dragon Legacy is a sensual paranormal romance with elements of fantasy. A quest for a dragon egg leads to an apocalyptic battle taking place alongside a murder mystery event in the English Lake District.

As a new author have you any tips for other new writers?

Learning to write for me is a steep but enjoyable learning curve. Every day I learn something new. I write because I love it and everyone else should do the same.

Are you writing another book?

I’m writing two at the moment a romantic suspense called The Dangerous Gift and a Historical Gothic called Past Shadows. I’ve also begun writing the second book in The Dragon Legacy Jasmine and Zane’s story which should be finished early 2014.

Thanks for having me on your blog today Paul.

emotional entanglements and duty must remain his first priority. His
beliefs are challenged when he’s inexplicably drawn to Fleur, a human
woman with an unusual psychic aura. Sparks of sexual attraction ignite
threatening both his search for the dragon’s egg he buried a thousand
years ago and Fleur’s life. Under the cover of a murder mystery weekend
an apocalyptic hunt begins’
